Double Tank Boat Diving

Broughton Island
Part of the Great Lakes Marine Park, is a sanctuary for endangered grey nurse sharks. The protected colony gives divers the opportunity for a close experience with these majestic fish. There are several dive sites around the island, each with unique topography and a variety of marine life from huge stingrays to the elusive blue devilfish.

Cabbage Tree Island
Just outside the mouth of Port Stephens and is only a short trip from the Feet First Dive marina. The small wreckage lying here is home to wobbegong sharks and a great place to hunt for nudibranchs, whilst off the northern shore we can dive the wreck of the SS Oakland, a general cargo and passenger vessel that foundered in 1903 due to rough seas. The wreck of the SS Oakland lies at a depth of 27m and is now home to wobbegong and Port Jackson sharks as well as shovelnose and Fiddler rays.

Macleay Wreck
A cargo vessel that sank off Little Island in 1911, lies in 42m of water and is an ideal dive site for exploration and wreck penetration. The engine and boiler room is in good condition and whilst the partially collapsed bow shelters large fish. Eagle rays are known to cruise by, whilst cuttlefish and sharks are often seen around the wreckage. The site is only suitable for deep and technical divers. If you are not certified already, you can combine your boat trip with a Feet First Dive Wreck or Deep Diver Course.

Fingal Island
Known for steep walls and drop offs, pinnacles and a large sponge garden. Diving here is ideal in summer when we regularly see large schools of pelagics, whilst in the Spring it is common to see mating Port Jackson sharks.
