This course is for the beginner – and will give you the skills to dive, to a depth of 18m – with a world most recognized open water diver certification.
Feet First Dive offers the SSI, PADI and SDI Open Water Diver courses with a convenient e-Learning option – become a fully qualified Open Water Scuba Diver with us in only 2 days!!
The online theory component can be completed at home, at your own pace, prior to the 2-day practical training. Great for those wanting to complete the course with only two days of on-site training. For those who prefer more contact time, other arrangements can always be made. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and confident with your learning experience.
The Open Water Course includes:
- Dive Theory (on-line OR paper option also available)
- Pool training (scuba skills)
- Four training dives in the waters around Nelson Bay
- Full equipment hire
- Open water certification cards on completion (SSI, SDI)
- Transport while on course
All you need is swimmers, sunscreen and a smile!
This is the next skill level after your open water certification. The SDI & SSI Advanced Adventure course will give you an overview of five different specialties. Two of the required specialties are the Deep Diver and Navigation Diver which are the foundation of continuing diver education.
Advanced Adventurer Course includes:
- Certification costs - card issued on the last day (except PADI)
- On-line theory component (manuals available; however they incur extra costs)
- Full scuba equipment hire for two days
- 5 Advanced Training dives

SDI & SSI Advanced Diver:
The Advanced Scuba Diver Development Program was created to make truly “Advanced Divers.”
During the course your Instructor will take you through four complete Specialty Courses (for example; Deep, Navigation, Photo, Video, Intro to Tech, etc.) covering all the skills, so that by the end you will feel comfortable to conduct dives of a similar nature. Once you have logged your 25th dive (these can include any and all training dives), you will be awarded the Advanced Scuba Diver certification.

The Rescue Course will give you the skills and the confidence to take on the challenges of all types of diving. The Rescue Diver Course is conducted over two days and one night. During the course you will receive theory lessons, diver aid, self rescue and a variety of realistic rescue scenarios. This course is physical and in your face!
Rescue Diver Course includes:
- Rescue Diver certification costs - card issue on the last day
- Swimming pool entry & dives
- Three open water rescue training dives (over TWO days)
- Pre - requisites = CPR + O2 Administrator
N.B. e-Learning theory MUST be completed prior to your booked practical date

Feet First Dive offer a diverse range of specialty courses. These courses will provide you with more knowledge to pursue new and exciting diving in a variety of fields that take your fancy. You may find yourself exploring an underwater shipwreck, or taking spectacular photographs of the many beautiful marine species that reside in the Nelson Bay and Port Stephens area. Perhaps you want to expand your technical skills and experience longer dive times.

Now we're getting serious. You are now entering the professional diving arena. The Dive Master course is conducted as an internship. The internship involves working with the Feet First team on a part time basis, in the shop, on the boat and in the classroom. The Dive Master course involves a close relationship with the dive centre.
Dive Masters form an integral part of any diving business. They conduct scuba refresher courses, lead guided dives from the boat &shore, assist instructors during training & their dive expertise provides retail assistance to customers.
